Very nice standing in the dirt that provides you luxuries like blogging about Mexico peeing down it’s back.
If a few their 1.5 million residents errrr undocumented aliens would go home they could put some man power on that.
I’m going to do a thing on religion & politics later.
Posted on December 31, 1969 at 8:00 am by scsouthenderAir quality is really poor in Carmel Valley and Del Mar. Does anyone know how bad it is and what measures people should take?

Ramona, Dye road west of SD Country Estates: Visible flames east on the second ridge by Old Julian Highway and SD Country Estates.
Packed, but no set evac at 8:00pm
Posted on October 21, 2007 at 8:03 pm by John HaerrEarlier today I was along the coast from Mission Bay to Encinitas and the Carmel Valley Del Mar area has much worse air quality than any other area.
Visibility in Carmel Valley seemed to be about 0.5 to 2 miles with ash falling, whereas in La Jolla and Encinitas visibility was several miles with no ash.
My guess is that Carmel Valley/Del Mar just happens to be directly down wind. If you can go a little north or south, that’s what I’d do.

Please reconsider commenting that multi-million $ homes are now burning. I don’t think a millionaire’s home is any more or less valuable to the owner than someone who loses a $200,000 home, apartment or condo.
All homes are valuable and sometimes it’s the millionaires who are more able to cope with their loses than those whose home and it’s contents may be all they have.
Posted on October 22, 2007 at 3:44 pm by Belle Ann BakerDoes anybody know how to find out what structures have burned in Potrero ????????
Posted on October 22, 2007 at 3:48 pm by Jen BrooksI find it amazing that nobody even mentions a $32,000 home!
Posted on October 22, 2007 at 6:58 pm by Cheri ChiaroAir quality was incredibly bad in the area surround San Elijo lagoon (Cardiff and Solana Beach), almost as bad as Carmel.
Does anyone have any idea what the threat is to Cardiff now? I live right across the lagoon from the Solana Beach evacuations that are apparently now mandatory.
Posted on October 22, 2007 at 8:02 pm by Evan ParkerI live in rural Australia and am listening right now to your broadcast about the fires over the net. Love and prayers to you all at such a terrible time. You all sound organised though - very impressive. Stay safe
Posted on October 22, 2007 at 8:40 pm by Robynlooking to seeif there is a way to get updates on my phone? I live in Olympia Washington with family in Lakeside, El Cajon, and Santee.
If it is possible, what would I need to do to get on the list.

Posted on October 22, 2007 at 9:08 pm by Susanne ReichI just spoke with my sister who lives off Twin Peaks in Poway near the Catholic Church. They have been away from their house since about 10:30am. They are at the Civic Center in Poway.
Posted on October 22, 2007 at 9:09 pm by michellegoogle earth terain maps of fire.... give a feel for how many houses affected and the terrain the fire is following....
Google Earth streams the world over wired and wireless networks enabling users to virtually go anywhere on the planet and see places in photographic detail. This is not like any map you have ever seen. This is a 3D model of the real world, based on real satellite images combined with maps, guides to restaurants, hotels, entertainment, businesses and more. You can zoom from space to street level instantly and then pan or jump from place to place, city to city, even country to country.
Get Google Earth. Put the world in perspective.

Posted on October 22, 2007 at 9:11 pm by R LaneI’m at my house at the edge of Olivenhain. The wind is low right now, and we can’t see any fires near us, but we’re nervous. We stayed at a friend’s house all day, but decided to come back home when the wind died. I’d really like to know what’s going on further over in RSF. I heard one report that the fires are near Aliso Canyon.

Posted on October 22, 2007 at 9:34 pm by JoeWe live in Santee. I was driving home at 8:30pm, northbound on the 125 freeway, heading into Santee. I saw flames on a ridge in the northwest portion of Santee. Any information about this?? I have heard nothing about fire coming close to Santee as yet.
Posted on October 22, 2007 at 9:47 pm by RoseSaw on KUSI that the navy had SIX helicopters ready to go to fight the fire since Noon today but Calfire said they couldn’t fly. This is just like during the Cedar fire when these turf battles let fires burn for no good reason. This was exposed by Michael Turko this evening.
Posted on October 22, 2007 at 9:49 pm by BruceAre the Navy ships out on the Bay being prepared to take on refugees from the fire? How about commercial cruise liners? These may be the only viable answers as the fires surround us. Some can hold thousands of people.
Posted on October 22, 2007 at 10:08 pm by Donna HuchelAny thoughts on if the military (theoretically) could get involved? Use some of those bombs that just suck the oxygen out of an area? Obviously have the firefighters out of there when the air is removed, but could that be a viable option for battling these fires that are just getting out of control? I speak in ignorance, so if this just would not work...forgive me, heh. But I’m just thinking outside of the box here.
